Cactus are a varied grouping of plants that range from columnar to stout, spherical to twisted, and with plenty of variation in between. Native to arid regions, cacti have evolved to expect lots of light and very little water.

The Opuntia is a cactus family native to the Americas. Also known as a prickly pear, they produce fruit which are often used in drinks or jams. They have paddle-like bodies and spines that range from large and threatening to fine and fuzzy. Santa-Rita is a beautiful variety with a flush of bright lavender blushing the classic thin and circular shape of a classic prickly pear cactus.
